1990 The most important even during this year was without any doubt the reunification of Germany. This opened a world to me that was formerly unreachable, also in regard of music. 1991-1992 Of course the changes didn't occur from one night to another. A negative side effect was the social change, I lost my job. With two little children it was very hard at the time to find a job. That way I spent much time at home and my interest in music returned slowly. 1993 In the meantime the CD had moved in, records weren't demanded any more. And in the music catalogues I also found CDs of my Rubettes. The first CD I bought of the Rubettes was THE BEST OF THE RUBETTES, followed by the Double DICE series, as well as RIDING ON A RAINBOW. It was a fullness of new (old) music which I was blessed with. During this time the 70's music became popular again. The former bands returned and now I had the chance, too, to see them. How much I wished to see my Rubettes live one day, too. 1994-1995 Now, there were more and more 70's programmes on TV, be it repetitions of the 70's or cuts of concerts. And so I saw after a long time my favourite group again, at first only on TV. They had partly changed a lot. I had to look twice to recognise Mick and Alex was new for me. But the songs were still the same ones as back then.
Gräfenhain - October 1997 The highlight of that year was the concert on New Year's Eve in Bremerhaven. I know that it is a bit crazy to travel 500 km just for a concert, but it was my most beautiful New Year's Eve. I also saw the family members of the guys, could have a drink with them for the change of the year and my first Rubettes kiss I received of Bill. By accident we stayed in the same hotel as the Rubettes and some of them I met again for breakfast. It was the event of the year, the last day of the old year and the first day of the new one. 1997-1998 These years were marked by active help in the fan club and regular concert visits. 1999 Unfortunately the fan club stopped during this year. It was a big disappointment for me and all the other fans. The information and stories around the band enriched every fan. Mainly the concert schedules were missed a lot, suddenly you were alone again. I believed that my best Rubettes years were over.
